E-Commerce and its affect on Business Models

Thanks to my fellow student, Cale, I have learned even more about E-Commerce today. His latest blog post, “Types of E-Commerce Business Models and Websites“, illuminates how E-Commerce has changed business models in the last 20 years. There are multiple types of business models, and each one is very specific. They are as follows: Business-to-Business, Business-to-Consumer, Consumer-to-Consumer, Consumer-to-Business, Business-to-Government, Government-to-Business, and Government-to-Citizen. Phew!

Cale gave very concise summations of each business model, as well as specific examples of companies that operate using each type of model. I found the information quite informative, and very fascinating. Something that I find extraordinary about E-Commerce is the way it is changing how we think about business, and the innovative ways people are using E-Commerce to simplify and expand all forms of business transactions and interactions. It’s so amazing to be living in these times!
